Why This Works

The opening is gentle and personal, establishing trust right away. The second sentence pivots to giving them space to share and invites them to lead the conversation.  It avoids potentially making them feel self-conscious and gives them an opportunity to decline if they're not ready.

The closing question is perfect because it gives them control over whether to continue the conversation. The options mentioned (styling techniques, hairpieces/wigs) are comprehensive without being overwhelming.

Remember that their first reaction might be emotional, so be prepared to simply listen before offering solutions.
